November 04,2011
It's the last day of SEMA 2011, and the final chance to see the biggest collection of specialty vehicles on the planet. As we wind down on the festivities, we are also pleased to announce the winner of 2011 Scion Tuner Challenge, and he is none other than Jon Sibal and his iQ-RX!
For the last few years, the Scion Tuner Challenge has pitted some of the builders and fabricators in the industry to create the wildest, most thought-provoking and salivating versions of beloved Scion rides.
This year, Global Judging selected the winner using a number of criteria including paint and body, audio/visual, and overall execution. After much deliberation, the iQ-RX built by Sibal Designwork has been chosen as the number one iQ in this year's Tuner Challenge competition.
Along with the title, Sibal will be taking home a custom Scion trophy, $10,000, and an automobile lover's dream prize pack provided by Snap-on, Alpinestars and Meguiar's
Second place was awarded to Michael Chang of Evasive Motorsports for his EVS iQ-RS, which comes with $7,000 and prizes from Snap-on, Alpinstars and Meguiar's.
Collecting $5000 and a selection of products from Snap-on, Alpinstars and Meguiar's is Tatsunori Tsuchida for his mid-engine wonder iQ-MR.
Receiving the nomination to be a builder for the Scion Tuner Challenge is a unique commendation in itself, and we are thrilled with all three and their teams for the exquisite design and hard work put into each of the tuner iQs.
With each passing year, the interest and excitement in our Tuner Challenge competition builds. Follow Scion Racing through 2012 to see which new vehicle will be featured next year!
So how do you like the iQ-RX? Which iQ in the Tuner Challenge was your favorite? Let us know!

i find it ironic that enthusiasts say they're are all about performance yet the iq that was modified for performance (iq-mr) was the last in votes for best car in the tuner challenge. granted the criteria is all about looks, it still kinda amuses me.
